Can I get a missing calendar off a Time Machine back-up?

I was working to get shared calendars set up for my 10.9.5 Air and my wife's 10.8.5 old Ibook. I managed that, but in the process of "cleaning up" old calendars I thought were redundant and erroneous, I deleted some my wife says have records going back several years. I have Time Machine back-ups of her machine. Can I selectively recover her old calendars without messing up the rest of her machine?

iBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Old machine--fall of 2008, I think.

Use the Spotlight search to find them then restore only the files you want.

Not sure how to do this. I've tried on my own Air. I enter Time Machine and then use the search box with "Calendar" and I get hundreds of files with calendar in them, but not my Calendar. Also, it's not Spotlight Search. So what am I missing?
